Vern has worked in the television, video and multimedia industries since 1986. He graduated from B.C.I.T. in Vancouver with a diploma in Broadcast Communications. From 1986 to 1990 Vern worked as a Writer/Producer at CKPG Prince George and 2&7 Lethbridge Television. From 1990 to June 1997 he was a senior Producer/Director at White Iron Productions in Calgary. He has been independent since 1997, operating as 745139 Alberta Ltd.
Since becoming independent, Vern has achieved a balance of video production for both the corporate and non-profit sectors. He’s also been doing a lot of videography and editing on many projects that require an affordable solution.
From the Corporate sector Vern has learned the importance of “On time, on budget” and knowing how to listen to the needs of his clients.
From the Non-profit sector Vern has enjoyed working with many socially conscious professionals and the people that they serve. Oh yes, working within ‘tight’ budgets too!!
Consultant: Over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of clients has meant in-depth knowledge of how to translate his clients’ goals into finished projects. And his first one-hour meeting is always free!
Producer: Television programs and series with local, regional, national, and international release, corporate communications, non-profit and government projects, 30 second public service announcement (PSA) and commercials.
Director: Vern has directed professional actors in dramatic scenes and non-professionals, usually in corporate communications.
Videography/Editing: Vern has been shooting digital video and editing various projects since becoming independent in 1997.
Writer: Writing stories of all kinds; television programs, edumercials, commercials, corporate videos, promos, museum a/v exhibits and others.
Interviewer: He has interviewed people from all walks of life.
Research: Vern is very experience using the Internet as a research tool.
